Day 6 Favourite Photographer: George Barris.
This was also a very tough choice and my other favourite included André de Dienes, Sam Shaw and Milton Greene. I chose George as I think his photos of Marilyn from 1954 during the filming of The Seven Year Itch and 1962 are simply beautiful. They captures Marilyn’s natural beauty and true happiness especially where she is so comfortable at the beach. After reading Marilyn Her Life In Her Own Words I have learnt how George and Marilyn had a very special friendship and he truly cared for her and she trusted him dearly. Marilyn was so happy with their photo shoot and ultimately her last professional one he writes how she was going to get large prints of them made for her home. I love the optimism in her eyes and the youthfulness in the photos. I have a lot of respect for George and think he is a wonderful person.
